a very special sunday

Sundays are usually pretty great.  It is the day that the wonderful husband and I get to just hang out around the house with no agenda and no where to be.  We take turns cooking and usually watch a movie.

Today, however, was a very special Sunday:  sausage Sunday!

(italian sausage drying)

Jessi's wonderful husband and my wonderful husband took over the kitchen to make lots and lots of sausage.  Yum!

(mmmm....spices)

(grinding some pork)

(pinstriped aprons)

(adding spice)

(filling the casings)

So, the day was nice.  My official role was "taster".  Not a bad job.

But, this is what made the day really special:

(radiant jessi and super jack)Super Jack turned six months old today.  And, what did he get to do for his birthday and first non-hospital outing?  He came to see me!

A very special Sunday indeed.

We had a great time! Thanks for letting us come over...was the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon! Can't wait to taste the sausage :)

So so jealous!! :) Super Jack is about the cutest thing ever! Looks like fun. Jessi was telling me all about the sausage making and it looks ... gross. But I'm sure the outcome is delicious, knowing the two cooks in charge.

@ Jessi--it was so good to see you and I was so thrilled to meet Jack! Plus, I appreciated that Jon taught Chuck all of that stuff.

@ Julie--i thought i would be a little more sicked out by the sausage making, but it wasn't bad. mainly because they just used pork meat...no gross stuff. And, you're right, only good can come from Jon and Chuck in the kitchen!
