yoga saturdays

I was shocked to find out that lil' ol' Helena doesn't have any Saturday yoga classes.  I couldn't even believe it.  I would love, love, love to go to a Saturday class.

So, with the help of the lovely ladies at Dancing Lotus Center, I will be offering Saturday yoga!  I have to rent the space and fit it in my busy summer schedule (never too busy for yoga!), so I am offering 7 Saturday yoga flow classes May through August.

And, maybe the best part, the classes are only $5 (I really thought about a free community class, but I have to rent the space...if it really gets rolling, I'll save the $ and put them toward future studio rentals for free community classes!) plus a donation to Helena Food Share.

I've also been busy "marketing" my Saturday classes.  Coming from the gym environment this is new to me!  I've been making posters and newspaper ads and I set up a Facebook business page (in the hopes that people will want to keep up with what I'm doing!).  So far, my Facebook fan page is full of my super kind and giving friends who completely support me, but who would not be caught dead in a yoga class!  Love 'em!

I've been focussed on growing my little yoga world and that is why it has been *crickets* on the blog front.  But, I'm really excited to share all that has been going on.

And, it wouldn't be fair not to mention the very lovely Eco Yogini in this post.  Her efforts and posts about building a yoga community have really inspired me and kicked my butt into action.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Fabulous stuff.

Eco's great isn't she. She's kicked my butt into gear too and I'm working on the yoga community around here (which is non-existent. Tons of classes but nobody working together).

I love your poster! Very well designed. I especially love that it is purple. If we were still in Helena, I would maybe have to try it out. :)

Yay that's great! I love me some Saturday yoga when I can, I would love to have more choices here in Brussels (then again maybe when I am officially a teacher I could offer some Saturday classes, have to think this over).
And I love the poster, it's beautiful!

congratulations and YES. all of the classes in ithaca are muy muy expensive. $5 classes would be well-loved here :)

no classes on Saturday? that is truly amazing and hard to believe. i imagine in a few years there might be tons, and to think...you started the trend! good luck building your community and let us know how it goes! your poster is absolutely lovely...what did you use to create the design? are you graphically knowledgeable or are you learning as you go? we might need to chat offline about some stuff for some ideas i have in the works....

@rachel--thanks! And, yes, Eco is fabulous! Good luck with the community. It is a fun thing to do.

@julie--so glad you like the poster. I just like to dabble. Purple is your color, huh?

@lagitane--ya, the commute is a bit far :D

@eco--thanks for the inspiration!

@emmanuelle--that is exactly how I felt. No classes so I might as well do it!

@emma--I think $5 classes are a great idea and easy. I definitely want it to be accessible, but I don't want to eat ALL of the costs. I think this is a nice compromise.

@michelle--helena is a fairly small town, or for any of you reading this, a REALLY small town. Maybe 25,000 people. I think for how small it is there is actually a lot of yoga opportunity. But little yoga space and no yoga community. I'm trying. As for the poster...that is just me dabbling. I have adobe but I find that it is a bit too technical for me yet and usually just use Pages on my Mac. The graphic is a stock photo from fotolia.com, not something I designed :D I'd be glad to chat with you!
